Description

The Cedars is a mid 17th century house located on Ringshall Wattisham Road. It has one storey and attics, featuring a two-cell plan and an integral lower rear wing, which may have served as a bakehouse or kitchen. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof that includes an axial chimney made of red brick from the 18th or 19th century. The house has 20th century eyebrow casement dormers and two-light casements; those with very small panes date from the 19th century, while the others are from the late 20th century. There is a 20th century flat-roofed entrance porch with a five-panelled door. Inside, the floor joists are set on edge, and the roof features side purlins. There are back-to-back open fireplaces.
