Description

Manor House, which includes attached screen walls, is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with some work from the 16th and 17th centuries at the rear. It is constructed of red brick and has a roof made of glazed black pantiles. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring five windows arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern. These windows have flush-frame sashes with glazing bars and are set under flat arches. The entrance has an inset six-panelled raised and fielded door, a rectangular fanlight with ornamental glazing bars that incorporate a hexagonal lantern case, and panelled reveals. The doorway is flanked by reeded pilasters and an entablature with a dentil cornice. Above, there is a flat parapet with a whitewashed corbelled brick band at the base, and semi-circular attic windows in the gables.

The later screen walls curve forward, each featuring a blind arcade of three arches. The left side has a central arch that contains a gate, while the corresponding arch on the right is plastered to match. The lower sections of the walls extend to the road and terminate in square piers. To the right, there is a single-storey plastered wing. At the rear, there is a timber-framed range with a hipped roof and a tall sawtooth stack.
