Description

This is an early 19th-century building of red brick with a pantile roof, located on Broad Street. The main block is two storeys high and features three flush frame sash windows with glazing bars and flat arches. The ground floor windows have been altered with the addition of narrow border panes. The front entrance has a six-panel arched door with a wooden reeded architrave, roundels at the springing, and a double arch. A recessed section of the door is set back 4½ inches. An iron segmental fanlight window, with radial bars, illuminates the staircase at the rear. There is also a two-storey, rendered wing to the east, with a pantile roof. This wing has flush frame sash windows at each floor, now with centre and margin bars only. The east wing features a four-panel door with glazed upper panels. The building is part of a group that includes numbers 2, 4 (corner cafe), 6 to 20 (even), 30A, and 30.
