Description

Little Grange is a 17th-century cottage that was enlarged and modernised in the latter half of the 19th century by Edward Fitz-Gerald. The original part of the cottage is timber framed and has been plastered, with a brick plinth. It features a stack of four octagonal flues, mounted on a base with a panel, which is likely a later reconstruction but intended as a restoration of an earlier chimney. There are two windows with mullion and transom casements; some are original and leaded, and a diamond-pane early leaded casement is at the rear. The doorway is modern, with shaped brackets, and shows signs of an earlier cornice hood and pediment. A brick, gabled wing, dating to the late 19th century, was added.
