Description

Alma House, probably built around 1845, is a two-storey building with three windows. It is constructed of red brick with yellow brick dressings, which include flank pilasters and a corbel eaves band. The eaves soffit is present, and the roof is hipped and covered with slate. The building features a cavetto moulded plinth and is rendered. The sash windows have glazing bars and stone moulded lintels set on moulded bedstones. The entrance consists of a single panel bolection moulded door with an oblong fanlight, all within a simple Doric case that is painted. There is a dormer window on the south side of the one-window return. Alma House is part of a group with Nos 1 and 2 St John's Terrace.
