Description
St John's Lodge is an early 18th-century building located on the north side of Thoroughfare, constructed in 1852. It is a two-storey structure with an attic and features two dormers on the sides. The building has a timber frame and a stucco-faced front, which displays 'V' jointed rustication. The rear section facing St John's Street has brick sash windows with glazing bars, likely added at a later date. The roof is tiled, with some areas featuring slate eaves courses. A French window leads to a balcony overlooking Thoroughfare, adorned with a cast iron balustrade and brackets. The stucco front includes rusticated keyed arches, a six-panel fielded door, and an oblong fanlight with glazing bars in an early 19th-century one-storey wing to the left. St John's Lodge is part of a group with Nos 85 to 93 (odd).
