Description
Culpho Manor is a house that was originally a manor house, with an early 16th century core and extensions made around 1600, along with further alterations in the 19th century and around 1920. The building has two storeys and features a hall range with a cross-wing added around 1600 to the right. It is timber-framed and encased in red brick, topped with plaintiled roofs. There is a 16th century internal chimney made of red brick, which was recapped in the 19th century. The windows are small-pane casements from the 20th century. The entrance porch is gabled and has a half-glazed panelled door. To the left of the chimney, the 16th century core includes a hall and two service rooms, showcasing massive exposed framing, a plain crown-post roof, and signs of diamond-mullioned windows. The main range was extended to the right, and a further cross-wing cell was added around 1600, featuring a well-constructed wind-braced butt-purlin roof.
