Description
Nos 4 to 8 on Earsham Street are buildings dating from the 17th century and early 18th century. They are two storeys high with an attic and feature five gabled dormers. The buildings are constructed of red brick, some of which includes dark headers, and have a first-floor band and a plinth. The tile roof has been partially renewed, and the main roof is topped with gable coping that supports a stone ornament.
There are seven windows at the first floor, along with one blank panel. The windows are sash style, with glazing bars and flush frames. Number 4 has a 19th-century wooden shop front. Number 6 features an eight-panel door set in a wooden case with panelled pilasters and a mutular cornice. Number 8 has a six-panel door in a mutular Doric wooden case, complete with panelled reveals, an arched radial bar fanlight, three-quarter columns, triglyphs, and an open pediment.
These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 40 on the same street.
