Description

GREAT BEALINGS (Off) ROSERY LANE TM 24 NW (North Side) 4/73 Garden ornament c.100 yards East South East of Bealings House G.V. II Garden ornament. C19. Knapped flint and flint rubble with ashlar dressings. Pyramid with arched niches to two sides. Road front: ashlar quoins to the corners, central arched niche containing an Indian figure of an Indian deity, probably Kali, with crossed legs, holding a pot in her left hand and string of beads in her right and with 2 further arms, three headed, two being in profile, each wearing an elaborate head-dress. Similar, larger triple-head to the apex of the pyramid. To the centre of each side are mill-wheels attached by a central tie-rod and to the rear is an empty niche.
