Description
This garden ornament, located approximately 100 yards southeast of Bealings House, dates from the 19th century. It is constructed from knapped flint and flint rubble, featuring ashlar dressings. The structure is pyramid-shaped with arched niches on two sides. The front of the ornament has ashlar quoins at the corners and a central arched niche that contains a figure of an Indian deity, likely Kali. This figure is depicted with crossed legs, holding a pot in her left hand and a string of beads in her right, and has two additional arms, three heads in total, with two heads shown in profile, each adorned with an elaborate head-dress. At the apex of the pyramid, there is a similar, larger three-headed figure. Each side of the ornament features mill-wheels connected by a central tie-rod, and there is an empty niche at the rear.
