Description
No. 14, known as The Q Tower, is a house that was originally a martello tower, built circa 1810-12. It is constructed of gault brick in a chequered pattern, featuring flared brick headers. The upper stage is of red brick, and part of the building has been rendered. The tower is round, topped with a parapet of broad crenellations. It has two storeys and scattered metal-framed casement windows; the original loop openings retain stone dressings. A recessed door, inserted in the 20th century, is located on the east side, and two rendered stacks are present.
