Description
Brook House is a timber-framed house, likely dating from the 17th century, although it was altered and refaced in the 18th or early 19th century. The north-west end is slightly raised, possibly indicating it was originally a separate house or an addition. The front facade is of red brick. The house has one storey and attics, with a three-window range of casement windows. A small 19th-century butcher’s shop is located at the south-east end. The roof is thatched, with two dormer windows and a central chimney stack with projecting shafts. This building has group value from its contribution to the setting of the Green.
