Description

The pump on the village green in Monks Eleigh is a 19th-century cast iron structure. It features a panelled casing, a plinth, and a cornice cap, along with a spout and handle. An inscription on the front indicates that the pump was erected in 1854 using proceeds from the sale of property belonging to Joseph Makin, who was the guardian of the poor.
