Description

27 Prentice Street is a former inn known as the Crown and Anchor, featuring a timber-framed and plastered structure with elements from the 17th and 18th centuries, though it likely dates back even earlier. The building has a roof covered with old tiles and includes a cross wing at the east end. It consists of one storey, with attics and cellars. The windows are a mix of small casements and small double-hung sashes from the 19th century. The front has a ridge chimney stack and two gabled dormers. Inside, there are large exposed ceiling beams and open fireplaces, while the cellars are very old.
