Description

This building, at 14-17 Bolton Street, is likely based on a medieval hall house that was altered in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is a timber-framed and plastered building that has been restored and renovated, with exposed timber framing on the front and on the ground storey at the east end. The building is two storeys high. It contains small casement windows with glazing bars. A modern boarded door is in a traditional style. There is one gabled dormer window on the front. A ridge chimney stack is present, with attached shafts. The interior retains exposed timber framing, suggesting its original medieval construction.
