2. This property with the house adjoining on the south are now converted into flats and are known as Ancient Houses Nos 1 to 4. A C15-C16 timber-framed and plastered building with a tiled roof. Two storeys. The predominant features are the 2 two-storeyed bays which project on the front with boldly moulded brick plinths and rising above the eaves level to gables with carved bargeboards. The ground storey has 7-light bar and transom bays with lattice leaded lights and the remains of moulded sills and frames. The upper windows are later casements on moulded bressumers. The remainder of the front has exposed timber-framing and small casement windows with some blocked original window. The doorways are approached by flights of steps from the pavement.
