Description
The Church of St Peter is an early 14th-century building constructed from flint and stone, with some areas faced in cement. The original west tower was demolished in 1836 and replaced with a weatherboarded bellcote. The south porch, also from the 14th century, features a cruck arched entrance and open sides. Inside, there is a 14th-century arcade leading to the nave, and the roof is supported by tie beams and crown posts. The font, dating from around 1300, is square and decorated with intersected blank arcading. Additionally, part of an original traceried chancel screen with medieval painting remains. The church's furnishings include box pews, a 17th-century three-sided communion rail, and an octagonal pulpit. The church is recognized for its architectural and historic significance.
