Description

The Hive Community Hub, formerly Christchurch Congregational and previously Trinity Church, is an 1839 red brick church with white dressings. It is rectangular in shape. The exterior features three two-light leaded casements at both gallery and ground levels, wide eaves, and a slate roof of moderate pitch. The interior contains wood galleries supported by cast iron columns with foliate caps. In 1891, a "Gothic" style facade was added using yellow brick and stone dressings, including traceried mullions and a pointed West window within a gabled end. A central entrance porch is also present. A small corner tower with a partly louvred spire sits at the North West corner. The history of the building is documented in History of Sudbury, Grimwood and Kay, pages 65 and 66.
