Description
This tomb chest, dating from the 15th century, is located about 20 metres south-southwest of the Church of St Michael in Great Moulton. It is made of stone and features alternating square and rectangular panels. The square panels are decorated with quatrefoils that have enclosed trefoils around a square, while the rectangular panels display shields and trefoils above. The tomb chest has a moulded plinth and a slab that includes a cavetto cornice. It was noted in the early 18th century by F. Blomefield, who described it as a very antique altar tomb located at the southwest corner of the churchyard, although he mentioned that there were no arms or inscription present.
