Description
Morley Hall is a boarding school built between 1841 and 1842, as noted in White's 1883 publication. The building is constructed from gault brick, featuring mortar dressings and mouldings. It has a rectangular plan with a later extension on one side designed in the Italianate style. The structure stands three storeys tall, with the south facade divided into three bays by giant pilasters and five bays of sash windows that have glazing bars, which diminish in height with each storey. The windows are surrounded by moulded architraves, with pediments above the ground floor windows and cornices above the first floor windows. The facade also includes blind boxes, a heavily moulded cornice, and a parapet. The east entrance facade has three bays and features a large painted porch with an entablature, parapet, and urns supported by two pairs of Roman Doric piers.
