Description

Akela is a late 17th-century timber-frame house which was later faced with red brick in the 19th century. It has a steep pantile roof with gabled ends. An external brick chimney stack is located off-centre, with another external brick stack at the south end. The house is two storeys high and has four widely spaced windows; the first-floor windows are 19th-century casements with glazing bars, while the ground-floor windows are modern casements. A plank door is situated on the left-hand side, and a modern porch is at the north end.
