Description
Houghton Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with later details primarily from the 19th century. The ground floor is constructed of flint, while the first floor is made of brick, topped with black pantiles. The facade features three late 19th-century casement windows, which have brick dressings and neo-17th-century pediments in stucco at the north and south ends. The first floor has two casements with plain stucco architraves. The roof includes kneelers, parapets, and two end stacks. There is a south wing that is of the same date, featuring one ground floor plate glass and sash window with brick dressings and a stucco pediment. Additionally, there are two part half-glazed doors set in a brick rusticated architrave beneath a slightly cambered arch. On the first floor, there is one two-light and one three-light casement. The roof has a lower pitch, with a parapet and a stack at the south. At the rear, there is a parallel 18th-century wing that creates a double pile, complete with a gable and a lean-to porch at the northwest.
