Description

Nos. 38, 40, and 42 High Street are 18th-century buildings that are rendered and colourwashed, topped with a steep pantile roof. They are two storeys high with an attic. The first floor features widely spaced sash windows with glazing bars. There are two pantiled 'wedge' dormers with sashes and a gabled dormer with a casement window. Number 38/40 has a modern shopfront, while Number 38 includes a doorcase with pilasters and a half-glazed door. The buildings also have modillion eaves and a brick and flint gabled wing to the north.
