Description

Number 56 on Freeman Street is a building dating from 1793. It features a red brick construction with a stucco band and plinth on the first floor. The building is two storeys high and has a pantile roof with an eaves board. There are two windows on each floor, which have glazing bars and stuccoed flat arches above them. The entrance includes a six-panel door set within a wooden case that has pilasters. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 52 and 56, Chadd House, No. 60, and Nos. 64-74 (even). The date and initials "FE" are inscribed on a stone tablet at the first floor.
