Description
Chadd House is an early 19th-century building located at 60 and 64 Freeman Street. It is two storeys high and constructed of brick that has been limewashed, except for Chadd House itself, which is lined with stucco and colourwashed. The roofs are covered with pantiles. Each floor features one window, with Chadd House retaining its original glazing bars. There is an additional window above an arched vehicle way on the left side, and a wall with an arch on the right side, standing between 5 to 8 feet high, also stuccoed and limewashed. The entrance to No. 60 has a four-panel door, while No. 64 features an arched entrance with a blank tympanum and a six-panel door, as well as an arched passageway on the left that is set back. Chadd House, No. 60, and Nos. 64-74 (even) are part of a group of buildings.
