Description

This is a pair of early 19th century houses located on Nelson Street in King’s Lynn. The buildings are constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof. They are two storeys high and arranged in three bays. The entrance to number 4 is a panelled door which is set within the facade of number 2. Above this door is a plain overlight. The facade is generally symmetrical, with a central panelled door and overlight to number 6, which is set beneath a gauged skewback arch. To either side of the central door are sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. A low-relief platband runs around the building between the ground and first floors. The first-floor windows are similar to those on the ground floor, but their gauged arches are turned slightly segmental. The roof is gabled, with an internal firewall visible projecting through the roof, and a ridge stack marking the division between the two houses.
