Description
The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage built in the mid to late 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition at the rear. It is constructed of brick and features slate roofs, forming a T-shaped plan with a cross wing. The building has two storeys and a cellar.
The entrance facade consists of five bays of sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath skewback arches. There is one two-light casement window with glazing bars beneath a segmental arch. The central doorway has a 20th-century doorcase in a traditional style, complete with a rectangular fanlight and narrow pilasters. The two southern bays are slightly advanced, forming the gable end of the cross wing.
The cross wing facade has two bays featuring wide tripartite sash windows with glazing bars, and the ground floor windows are set beneath segmental arches, although one window was missing at the time of the survey. A median platband runs along the facade. The early 19th-century rear wing has two bays of sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches, and the ground floor windows have 9-pane lower sashes that descend to ground level. The rear wing has a hipped roof and internal end stacks.
