Description

This is a pair of garden urns located at the base of the steps on the east side of the formal gardens. They date from the 17th century and are made of limestone. Each urn is vase-shaped and sits on a square base and pedestal. The urns feature upper and lower bands of fluting, with a vine trail wrapping around the middle. They have a lipped rim on a concave neck and a conical lid topped with a knop-finial. At the time of the survey, one of the urns had been removed, leaving only its base in place.
