Description
Flashpit Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof, and a porch that is also plaintiled. The building has three storeys at the front and two storeys at the rear. Its symmetrical facade features three bays: the ground floor has cross-casements with glazing bars, the first floor has cruciform sashes with glazing bars, and the second floor has 2-light casements. There are gauged arches above the openings on the ground and first floors. The central porch is adorned with a pediment supported by Tuscan columns, and it has later glazing and doors. The entrance door consists of six panels, is partly glazed, and has a rectangular fanlight above it. The farmhouse has a modillion eaves cornice and parapet gables with moulded eaves corbels, along with internal chimney stacks. At the rear, there is a catslide extension featuring sashes and casements, and a large external stack is located at the south-east corner.
