Description
Willow Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the late medieval period, with improvements made in the 16th and 17th centuries, along with some modern additions. The building features a timber frame, rendered clay lump, and brick construction, topped with a pantile roof. It has a double pile plan, with the rear pile being timber framed and having floors and a stack inserted, while the front pile dates to the early 19th century. The exterior does not reveal any special interest. Inside, there is an inserted 16th-century roll-moulded bridging joist that extends onto the cornices. The first floor has one exposed 5-light mullion window with roll mouldings, hollow chamfers, and surviving wooden stay bars, as well as one partially exposed ovolo-moulded mullion window. Parts of the timber frame are exposed, featuring heavy scantling with original infill, and there is a 16th or 17th-century axial stack. The roof has been modernized.
