Description
Crownleigh is a public house, now used as a domestic residence, dating from the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of rendered clay lump on a plinth of flint and brick, topped with a gabled pantile roof. It has two storeys, featuring a central door from around 1970 that is set under a flat timber semi-circular arch. There is one sash window on either side of the door, and three narrower sash windows on the first floor, all of which have glazing bars. The gable ends have a slight parapet supported by brick kneelers, and there are internal end stacks. The gable walls are made of brick, with the eastern wall showing signs of enlargement. There is tumbling to the former gable line and a flat brick string course at the first floor level. To the west, there are rebuilt stables that are now used as garages.
