Description

The cross in the churchyard, located 10 metres west of the tower of the Church of St John the Baptist, dates from the 15th century. It features a cross shaft set on a tomb chest made of ashlar stone. The chest is adorned with carved quarterfoil panels that include lancing shields. The tall plinth is cross-shaped in plan, with arms that are connected by diagonal sections. Only a small section of the shaft remains, likely the upper part, which has four narrow niches that contain tiny nodding ogee heads.
