Description

Hill Farm Barn is a mid-17th century barn that features a timber frame and is weatherboarded on a brick plinth, topped with a gabled pantile roof. The front of the barn includes a long 18th-century outshut made of timber and brick, which is covered by a catslide slate roof. The rear of the barn has two double doors. Inside, the structure is close studded with arched braces, and the principal posts support tie beams that are connected by both arched and straight braces. The barn also has two tiers of tenoned butt purlins and collars.
