Description
Mill House is a Grade II listed building that serves as a miller's house and includes the remains of a mill. It dates from the early 19th century, with an addition made in the mid to late 19th century. The structure is built of colourwashed brick and features black and red pantile and slate roofs. The former mill, which is late 19th century, has part of one wall still standing. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the cross wing being the later addition. The original wing is two storeys high and consists of three bays of sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits. The front door is located in the cross wing and is topped by a semi-circular arch of two orders that contains a fanlight. Adjacent to the door are three sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. The surviving wall of the mill includes some cast iron window frames. Inside the house, one room features re-used 17th-century panelling.
