Description
The Church of St Nicholas is a parish church that dates back to the medieval period but was largely rebuilt in 1891. It is constructed of flint with a rendered tower and ashlar dressings, featuring plaintile and pantile roofs. The building includes a round western tower, an aisleless nave with a south porch, and a chancel with a vestry. The tower has four single light arched bell-openings that are cusped. The nave and chancel, primarily from 1891, incorporate a re-assembled 14th-century south door and three 19th-century Y-traceried windows, including one double lancet and a modern three-light east window. The chancel arch has been restored and features two plain-chamfered orders with polygonal responds, while the tower arch has two plain-chamfered orders and no responds.
