Description

79 High Street is a building dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a construction of red stretchers and grey headers, topped with an old tiled roof that has two hipped dormers. The building is two storeys high with attics and includes two flush sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has cambered arches above the windows, and there is a central door that is sheltered by a hood, supported by a wrought iron bracket intended for an inn sign. This building was formerly known as The Unicorn Public House. Number 79 is part of a group with Nos 81 to 87 (odd), which are of local interest.
