Description

The Holly Bush Public House is a timber-framed building dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th century. The front elevation is plastered, while the rear elevation displays exposed timber framing and 18th-century red brick infill. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in plain tiles, with a former off-centre stack having been removed. The building is two storeys high and has four timber-framed bays. The easternmost bay contains 16th-century floor beams. Four 19th-century glazing bar casements are on the upper floor, these being horizontal sashes. The ground floor has larger sashes and casements, alongside a 19th or 20th-century canted bay on the left-hand side. The western gable end features a 17th-century external red brick chimney stack. A single-storey outbuilding, constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, is located on the rear eastern side of the property.
