Description
31 and 32 Bridge Street is a low timber-framed building dating from the 15th to 16th century. It has two storeys with an overhanging upper floor and a steep hipped tiled roof at the west end, which overhangs the River Hiz. The building features a broad central carriageway. The ground floor has mostly been rebuilt in brick, but you can still see projecting beam-ends and an angle bracket at the west end over the river. The front of the upper storey displays close vertical studs that are infilled with plaster. There are five modern casement windows and a box dormer. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 32 Bridge Street.
