Description

The building at 14 and 16 High Street dates to the 18th century. It has a red brick facade with an old tiled roof and a wooden modillioned cornice. A hipped casement dormer is present. The building is two storeys high with attics. A 19th-century shop front, which has been altered and features a cornice, occupies the ground floor. The first floor has two nearly flush sash windows with glazing bars, each set under a flat arch. The building is joined to number 12. It forms a group with numbers 2 to 32 (even), number 26A, and numbers 1 and 2 John Street.
