Description

The Lodge is an 1880s lodge originally built as a gatehouse to Warren Park, now a separate residence. It was constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a gabled roof covered in Welsh slate. The roof features elaborately moulded, fretted, and pierced bargeboards, and the brick chimneystacks have oversailing courses.

The building is two stories high. The first floor has three-light mullion and transom casement windows with eared stucco architraves; there are two windows on the side and one in the north-facing gable overlooking the road. A stucco plate band runs along the first-floor level. The ground floor mirrors this with two similar windows, and a central gabled porch with matching bargeboards. The north-facing elevation features a five-light mullion and transom bay window with sidelights, a boarded fascia, and a lead flat roof.

The interior has not been inspected.

The lodge was designed in the same style as the largely rebuilt Warren Park in 1880, and it represents an important architectural element of the estate. It is included in the listing for its group value.
