Description

Dean Incent’s House is a 16th-century timber-frame building with plaster infilling and an old tiled roof. It is situated on the High Street in Berkhamsted. The building is two storeys high, with the first floor slightly overhanging the ground floor. It features three flush-set leaded casement windows. The building has been carefully restored. The original owner, John Incent, Dean of Saint Paul's, is known for founding Berkhamsted Grammar School. The interior retains original exposed timber framing and significant remains of wall paintings.
