Description
Three Gables is a house that dates from the 16th century or possibly the late 15th century, with alterations made in the early 17th century. It features a timber frame and a tiled roof, which is topped with two red brick chimney stacks that have three and four diagonally set shafts. The building has two storeys, with the first floor overhanging on a moulded wallplate. The ground floor has been rebuilt and is covered with colour washed cement rendering that is nearly flush with the upper storey. The exterior displays close vertical studding with plaster infilling to the let floor, and it has casement windows. Three Gables is part of a group with Nos 9 to 11 and the garden wall to Three Gables and No 50 on Lawn Lane.
