Description

The stables at Wendon Place are 17th century structures that were originally a barn. They are timber-framed and weather-boarded, consisting of four bays. A rear-facing midstrey and a two-storey end bay on the western side were added in the 18th century, with upper-storey access from higher ground at the rear. The roof is made of corrugated iron and is half-hipped at the west end. These stables are part of a courtyard of buildings located to the north and west of Wendens Place.
