Description

Hill House is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered building located on Carters Hill in Manuden. The building was renovated and retains two storeys. The upper storey is jettied across the front, supported by exposed timber joists and five curved brackets. Above the doorway are the initials and the date M.J.P. 1768. There are four casement windows across the front. The roof is tiled and half-hipped, featuring an original rectangular central chimney stack. The building is of group value, contributing to the wider character of the area.
