Description
This building is a barn located approximately 60 meters east of Newland End Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features 19th-century weatherboarding over a timber frame set on a brick plinth, topped with a half-hipped corrugated asbestos roof. The barn has a four-bay aisled plan, with plank double doors and a winnowing door at the rear. Inside, there are jowled posts that are braced to arcade plates and tie beams, collar trusses with clasped purlins, and diagonal wall bracing. Some of the studs have been replaced in the 19th and 20th centuries.
