Description
Parsonage Farmhouse is a building originally constructed as a 15th-century moated manor house, which is still surrounded by the moat. Access is provided by a brick arched bridge on the north side. The house underwent alterations in the 16th and 17th centuries and later. On the east side, the ground floor has been extended with a tiled lean-to roof and features a modern gabled porch. The north and south gabled ends, along with the west front, are faced in red brick, with the central part of the west front projecting forward and gabled. The building has casement windows and a tiled roof. Inside, there are exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams, and joists. The moat is believed to have been the location of an Iron Age fort.
