Description

Walker’s Farmhouse, formerly listed as Walker's Manor House, is a 16th-century timber-framed and plastered moated manor house built around 1560, with 17th-century and later alterations. Part of the moat remains. Originally constructed on a T-shaped plan, it features a Great Hall in the centre and a solar to the south. The house has two storeys, attics, and cellars.

The west front is characterised by gables at the north and south ends, and includes a gabled open arched porch with a room situated above it. A moulded bressummer runs across the central portion of the west front. The upper storey was originally jettied but has since been underbuilt in brick. Modern casement windows have been added. The roof is tiled and retains three original chimney stacks with octagonal shafts, one of which dates from around 1700.

Original internal features include an open fireplace and extensive panelling.
