Description
Chiswick Hall is a timber-framed and plastered house built around 1600, which is partly surrounded by a moat. It is believed to have been constructed by Sir John James within a 300-acre park and was later converted into a farmhouse. The building has an H-shaped plan with jettied gables on the east and west ends of the south front. At the rear, there is a gabled staircase wing. The house has two storeys and attics, featuring leaded casements. The roof is tiled and includes an original central chimney stack with cruciform shafts set diagonally on a square base.
