Description
Sparlings Farm House is a 16th-century house located in Felsted. It has two storeys and features a late 16th-century long wall jetty at both the front and rear wing. The roof is made of plain red tiles. The house is timber framed and plastered, with decorative pargetting. It includes heavy jowled storey posts, arch bracing, and two mullions, along with a side purlin roof. There are three brackets supporting the jetty. The rear wing has an inserted 16th-century floor. There have been 20th-century alterations to the rear, including a three-window casement range with an inserted bay under the jetty. To the left, there is a plank and muntin door, and the house retains its original fireplace with an off-centre red brick chimney stack.
