Description

Great Greenfields is a house dating from the 15th century or earlier, with subsequent alterations. The house comprises a two-storey crosswing and a single-storey-and-attic hall, featuring a gabled dormer window. The roof may feature a crown post. Originally timber-framed and plastered, it now has a two-window front with diamond-leaded casement windows. A board door is sheltered by a flat canopy. An off-centre chimney stack of red brick, built in the 16th century, is a distinctive feature, boasting a moulded base and three panels containing a circle, a fleur-de-lys, and a diamond. The interior contains an open hall with four centred arches. The property is situated on a moated site.
