Description
The Church of the Holy Trinity is a Grade I listed building located on Littlebury High Street. This church has Saxo-Norman origins and features flint and stone construction. The north aisle dates back to 1225, while the south aisle was built around 1250. The west tower, which has a castellated parapet, is from the early 14th century. Both the north and south porches were added in the early 15th century and have vaulted roofs that were never completed. The south doorway is from around 1200, and the north doorway dates to approximately 1225, featuring a notable 15th-century door with moulded battens and carvings of two pairs of shears. There has been significant restoration work in the 19th century, including the rebuilding of the chancel between 1870 and 1875 by Edward Barr. Inside, the church contains a fine early 16th-century carved wooden font case that complements the 13th-century font. The church is recognized for its architectural and historical significance.
